How to Get Involved

It’s really easy to be a part of this project. Make some art. Find a place to display it. Take a photo and tell us about it (and yourself). That’s really all there is to it, but here’s a step-by-step guide.

Step 1: Create your piece of art. It can be any medium you wish; painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, poetry… it could even be a link to something online. All we ask is to be as environmentally friendly as possible and nothing that could set out to offend.

Step 2: Take a couple of photos. One of your work and one of the location you’ll wish to place it. Choose somewhere in the local environment and is publicly accessible. It can be inside or outside. Please don’t damage anything in displaying your art.

Step 3: Record the location of your art using the app ‘What3Words’ (it’s a free download on all major platforms – links are below). The app will give you three unique words based upon your GPS location. This will help others discover your work.

Example: reds.brands.music puts us at the bus stop outside Tolworth Tower.

Step 4: Send us your pics! We’ll need your name (if you want to be a ‘Banksy’ and use an alias, that’s fine), the title of your work, the location it’ll be placed (your three words) and the two photos. You can email, tweet or Instagram us. If you’d like to include some words, that’s great – but please keep it to less than 240 characters.

Use the #100AIR so we can see your wonderful work.

The Day Before

Step 5: On the 30th April (the day before the exhibition), place your art back in the location you’ve chosen and leave it for people to discover.

After the Exhibition

Step 6:  On the 11th May retrieve your art, although you may of course find that someone has ‘retrieved’ it before you.

Permissions

Your images, location and text may be used digitally and/or in a publication by the organisers The Community Brain (we might even make a cool book).
